Wiley is a global provider of content and content-enabled workflow solutions in areas of scientific, technical, medical, and scholarly research professional development and education. The purpose of the journal is to stimulate debate on and development of ideas and methods in medical anthropology and to explore the relationships of medical anthropology to both health practice and the parent discipline of anthropology. It encompasses studies of ethnomedicine, epidemiology, maternal and child health, population, nutrition, human development in relation to health and disease, health-care providers and services, public health, health policy, and the language and speech of health and health care. This field is broadly taken to include all inquiries into health, disease, illness, and sickness in human individuals and populations that are undertaken from the holistic and cross-cultural perspective distinctive of anthropology as a discipline-that is, with an awareness of species' biological, cultural, linguistic, and historical uniformity and variation. Medical Anthropology Quarterly: International Journal for the Analysis of Health publishes research and theory in the field of medical anthropology. NEXT SPACE REBELS TOILET HOW TOThe broader issue addressed here is how to give greater empowerment to local residents' voices in their "indigenous critique" of the medical anthropological project. The essay analyzes parallels between the exchange of medicine and the exchange of knowledge and reflects upon how anthropological knowledge of African healing systems is constructed in an environment highly charged with power and danger-of political violence and economic crisis. Paramount in these systems are central state policies and medical anthropological research on healing, as these intersect in a postcolonial and post-separatist/rebellion setting. I examine local medical specialists and their traditional and changing practice in terms of how they perceive and respond to wider knowledge and power systems that impinge on local health care. The context is medical discourse among the Tuareg of Niger Republic, West Africa, and my research experiences among these people. The purpose of the Transformative Conflict team is to hold this agreement and to integrate feedback so it continues to meet our needs. This essay explores the dialogue between the local quest for healing and the anthropological quest for healing knowledge, and local assessments of knowledge-power relationships in these processes. It seems we all wish to have support and processes ready so that rebels can try resolving their own conflicts, by creating mutual understanding and agreements on next steps. It sets out to answer: How do we in XR UK wish to collectively respond to conflict when it arises? What would it look like to deal with conflict in a way that is aligned with our principles and values and that we can truly be proud of? This website displays the community-owned agreement that was built from the collective wisdom of rebels. A transformed conflict can enrich XR’s soil and grow our collaboration and trust. Our conflicts can tell us a lot about ourselves, the health of our teams or movement, and what we might need to change. We don’t just want to flush away uncomfortable conflicts, we want to transform them into something useful for everyone. If there’s no toilet set up, the house will get unpleasant and messy. We can think of this system as our compost toilet that we've set up as a community. An agreed way to deal with conflicts, that we all know is there, ready and waiting for when we naturally and inevitably clash or disagree. In the same way, a conflict “room” is vital to any community. We have these in place because we know that we get hungry and tired every day. Homes all over the world have a room set up for cooking and another for sleeping. but we don't know where to go to make that happen. We might be longing to be listened to, or for something to change. Conflict can feel like stress, frustration, pain or confusion. Many of us in XR hav e at some point experienced a lack of trust and connection, or difficulties collaborating with other rebels.
